Here's my video on my process of making the DARKSABER: The specific file I printed was this one However as mentioned I will credit 3DPRINTINGWORLD for the idea and some of the base measurements that I took from his printed file (not the digital one). darker.Īlthough the idea of a collapsing sword wasn't mine this saber however. I really wanted a saber with sharp faceted edges, a sleek overall feel, and something that was.

Then finally after 5 or so different Fusion 360 files and about 22 different iterations on the final one to get a product I was happy with. I then reverse engineered my own circular lightsaber, mirrored it, and made Darth Maul's dual bladed lightsaber. First I printed out 3DPRINTINGWORLD's collapsing Sith Lightsaber so that I could take some measurements and get a feel for settings I would have to use to make a saber of my own. And after watching season 2 of the Mandalorian I decided that a LIGHTsaber wouldn't cut it. If you want the original Fusion 360 file, PM me.A few months ago the thought popped into my head to try and make one of my own collapsing lightsabers.

Also, screws probably require multiple lines for the wall thickness. For instance, some parts are threaded and therefore need to be printed in the direction of the thread. Maybe you'll have to adjust a few files so that things assemble better for you (particularly the screws).Īlso, you'll have to play with the settings for your slicer to print things correctly. The files linked below worked for me and my printer (Ender 3 Pro + Ultimaker Cura for the slicer). I had to guess the real life scale of the gun, so I just made it to fit my hand. But the entire thing remains something you can assemble/disassemble as you wish (and it makes painting easier). A few places requires a little bit of glue though.

No screws are required (well, some are, but you can print them :D) ! Just print the parts and assemble the prop. I used the orginial model and replicated it. Ignore the scuffed paint, I've never painted anything in my life before :D So I decided to make an Underboss myself AND share the STL files with everyone so that you can print it too!
